Flooding in Fort Worth, Texas

Storms with hail as big as softballs and winds above 70 mph swept through northern Texas on May 5, 1995 causing widespread damage. The National Weather Service issued tornado warnings for Dallas County, as severe storms moved through Fort Worth and into Arlington. Daggett Elemantary School recorded almost three inches of rain in four hours and a gust of 41 MPH. The weather station calculated a maximum rain rate of 4.24 inches per hour at 7:34PM. Rain rate is calculated based on the amount of rain received in 6 minutes.
