Welcome!

Hello first-time users and welcome to the Weather Underground Inc! This site is dedicated to quickly providing the latest weather conditions across the United States.

We have been active now for a little over a month. You will notice that our site is rapidly undergoing changes and new features tend to pop up from day to day. To keep our users informed as to changes and plans we will have a news letter that is updated periodically.

Right now our interface is centered around the html current weather forecasts. These are updated on the hour and provide up to five day forecasts for cities across the country.

If there is a feature that you think our site should have, feel free to e-mail our developer's: Alan Steremberg and Chris Schwerzler. Many of our features have come from past requests, yours could be next!

Thanks,
-The Weather Underground Inc-

Over the past 2 years NOW Consulting Inc. has studied and researched weather services in Canada and its relationship with the broadcast media. Unlike the United States, in Canada, the industry is largely dominated by big companies, with the source provider being mostly the government of Environment Canada. Times are changing and the weather industry will no longer be ruled solely by large corporations.

NOW Consulting Inc., in agreement with Automated Weather Source, is developing Canada's School Weather Network ClassNet . NOW Consulting's ClassNet concept is a unique combination of local networks of automatic weather observation stations placed in schools, broadcast television and public/private partnerships.

HOW THE WEATHERWORKS is a company dedicated to providing high-quality educational weather services to teachers and students from pre-school through adulthood. Started in 1979, the company has steadily increased its presence in educational circles through a growing line of curriculum supported products and numerous client-focused workshops and in-service programs.

HOW THE WEATHERWORKS prides itself in having a unique meteorologist-educator team to ensure that science and education are blended through multi-disciplinary thematic study units. Mathematics, geography, language arts (including literature-based readings), history, and much more are "webbed" in our programs and products.

The name HOW THE WEATHERWORKS was chosen because everyone kept asking us "how the weather works." We also refer to ourselves as the people who emphasize "weather education for all seasons."
